Yes it does.  Its been proven over and over again and tested in many countries by trained fire services and the general public. Its even CE marked.  This product is one of the simplest fire extinguishing products we have ever seen.

Its a round ball which contains a fire suppressant chemical within a foam shell.  It has a fuse on the outside of the shell (similar to a firework fuse) and when thrown or rolled into a fire, as soon as the fuse is ignited by a flame, the ball is activates within approximately 3 seconds.

Its 6 inchs diameter (150mm) and weighs approximately 1.5 kg

       Up to 9sqm.  In some tests it coped with fires in area of 18sqm

The Elide Fire Ball should only be stored in a dry area or in the home but it can be used on fires outdoors as demonstrated in our demo videos here.

No. In fact we still recommend you have a fire extinguisher and/or a fire blanket to use as a back up.  You can purchase these items at Passive Fire Warehouse along with the Elide Fire Ball.  We recommend you use the Elide Fire Ball first to put out the main fire, then if there are still small fires or embers, then use your fire extinguisher to finish off and ensure the fire is completely out.

No.  The Elide Fire Ball is non-serviceable and is maintenance free.

5 years and it comes with a 5 year manufacture warranty.

The product will still work extremely well after 5 years but may have a 20% loss on performance.

      It can be used on 5 different classes of fire. These are Fire Class Type A, B, C, E and F.

      When used on flammable liquid fires (class B), the Elide Fire Ball must be used or mounted in a static fixed position. This is the same for class F fires.

      Fire classes are as follows:

      Class A - Wood, paper, textiles, plastic and rubber

      Class B - Flammable liquids, fuels or paints

      Class C - Combustible gases or gas fires

      Class E - Electrical equipment >5 kV

      Class F - Cooking oils and fats

No, the Elide Fire Ball is automatic and needs no human intervention to make it work.  It requires minimal training, is light and easily carried and stored in the home, car, on the boat, the caravan or at work.
